Past Exhibition
Wilf Wright (1931 - 2021)
Wilf Wright made functional objects with sculptural qualities and textural surfaces. His pots were fired to stoneware temperatures, giving him the ability to develop a vivid colour range. Wilf and his wife Janet were part of the craft renaissance in the 50s and 60s where there was vast change of attitude from what had gone before. Previously, people didn’t want anything that was New Zealand made. But Wilf Wright and his contemporaries in the art and pottery scene changed that.
This exhibition may be viewed at Seifert gallery by appointment.
